About the Report—
To provide businesses across the dental industry with the information necessary to grow, create jobs, and operate sustainably the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) publishes the ADIA Australian Dental Workforce in Numbers Report. This report provides guidance on the potential demand for dental products in each state/territory and where growth opportunities may emerge.
The ADIA Australian Dental Workforce In Numbers Report provides data on the number of current dental professionals in the workplace plus data over the past five years as measured each June and December. The report includes data on the number of professionals in addition to key demographic information such as age and gender. It also includes information on number of hours worked and whether the professional is employed in the private or public sector. It analyses the workforce for the following categories:
These documents are updated periodically as the underpinning data becomes available from sources that includes the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) and the Dental Board of Australia (DBA) plus the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), while older data has also been accessed from the now defunct Health Workforce Australia (HWA).
